About the seminar

Barbell Strength Course is a hands-on format intense course, where you will learn the fundamentals of biomechanically sound, effective and safe barbell strength and muscle building movements as well as the basic explosive movements with in-depth coaching instructions. Together with other coaches and athletes, you will spend 8 hours over one day learning from experienced Younix Strength & Conditioning coaches.

What you will learn

There are trainers, and there are coaches in the fitness industry. With this course, we will show you the difference, guiding you on your way to becoming a strength coach.

As coaches, we have a responsibility to look beyond reps and sets. We aim to teach people how to move and optimise performance or to re-establish their optimal movement patterns, and physical strength is one of the essential things in life. This is true whether we want it to be or not. As humanity has developed throughout history, physical strength has become less vital to our existence, but no less important to our lives, performance and well being. If we want our bodies to function correctly we need to develop and maintain healthy muscles, bones and nervous system, and this is only possible with regular strength training.

Topics covered include:

  • The 6 barbell bilateral hip dominant movement patterns (conventional deadlift, sumo style deadlift, RDL deadlift, good morning and seated good morning).
  • Correcting the bilateral hip dominant movement pattern pain and disfunction.
  • Strength training strategies for the hip dominant movement patterns.
  • The 4 barbell bilateral knee dominant movement pattern (back squat, front squat, box squat and overhead squat).
  • Correcting the bilateral knee dominant movement pattern pain and disfunction.
  • Strength training strategies for the knee dominant movement patterns.
  • The 2 barbell vertical push movement pattern (press and push press).
  • Correcting the vertical push movement pattern pain and disfunction.
  • Strength training strategies for vertical press movement patterns.
  • The 3 fundamental barbell triple extension movement patterns for optimal performance (hang power clean, hang power snatch and power jerk).
  • Correcting the triple extension movement pattern pain and disfunction.
  • Power and speed training strategies for triple extension movement patterns.
  • Proper breathing mechanics.
  • Coaching methods that you can instantly use for yourself and implement with your clients.

After each lecture section, we followed up with a hands-on session that will have you working with a coach in a collaborative small group setting. Attendees will take the role of demonstrating, assessing, and coaching correctives and movements.

Real and safe strength and power building movement with smart programming is foundational to our function not just as athletes, but human beings.

What makes this
COURSE different?

There is so much information out there on how to use the barbell to build strength and power. There are different concepts, methods and styles which makes it difficult for you to know what is right and what is wrong and what works and what doesn't. Too much confusing information, too little context.

This course is designed to change that. Get a road map, a curriculum, a way to connect the dots that will help you enhance your strength game and longevity at he same time. The purpose of this course is to expose you to the proven barbell strength movements and coaching methods our team developed and we use to enhance our clients results and give you the tools necessary to make objective, purposeful decisions while creating strength training plans for yourself and those you coach.

Our coaching team

Outside of our courses and seminars our skilled coaching team regularly teach this curriculum to strength & conditioning caches, fitness and health professionals at different conferences and events, as well as using it everyday for coaching professional athletes and general population, helping them optimise performance and longevity. Younix coaching team is regularly attending different coaching courses in various topics. We are as much students as we are teachers.
